About the DOST JLSS Scholarship Examination
Held annually, the JLSS Examination identifies qualified students pursuing priority science and technology (S&T) programs in the basic and applied sciences, engineering, and science and mathematics teaching, who will receive financial and academic support beginning in their third year of college.
Through the JLSS program, DOST-SEI continues to strengthen the country’s S&T workforce by supporting the development of highly qualified professionals who will contribute to national development.

While most testing centers administered the examination on June 28, the Basco, Batanes Test Center conducted its examination on July 5 after it was postponed due to Tropical Cyclone Francisco, to ensure the safety of examinees and examination personnel.
DOST JLSS Scholarship Benefits
Successful qualifiers will receive financial and academic support for the remainder of their undergraduate studies, including:
- Monthly stipend: ₱8,000
- Tuition fee subsidies: Up to ₱40,000 per academic year, for scholars enrolled in private universities and colleges
- Learning materials and/or connectivity allowance: ₱10,000 per academic year
- Transportation allowance: One economy-class round-trip fare per year, for scholars studying outside their home provinces
- Thesis allowance: ₱10,000
- Graduation allowance: ₱1,000
- Research Dissemination Grant: Up to ₱50,000
- Premium group accident and health insurance
