Under this program, up to 20,000 scholars may receive ₱25,000 per semester stipend, plus additional allowances and tuition support to help cover college expenses.
CHED Bagong Pilipinas Merit Scholarship 2026
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has officially opened the Bagong Pilipinas Merit Scholarship Program (BPMSP) for incoming first-year college students for Academic Year 2026–2027.
According to CHED, the application period runs from April 30, 2026 to June 30, 2026, or until all scholarship slots are filled.
This program aims to support deserving students by reducing the financial burden of pursuing higher education in CHED-recognized institutions.
What are the Scholarship Benefits
Qualified scholars may receive the following:
- ₱25,000 stipend per semester
- ₱4,000 additional allowance
- Tuition and other school fee support
- Other educational assistance benefits

Who Can Apply?
The scholarship is open to:
- Filipino citizen who is an incoming first-year college student
- Graduated from Grade 12, belonging to the Top Five (5) of the graduating class or with a minimum GWA of 95% (or its equivalent)
- Graduate of Basic Education Curriculum or Senior High School with a minimum GWA of 95% (or its equivalent)
- Parent/s or guardian/s with combined annual income not exceeding PHP 2,000,000
- Enrolled in CHED-identified priority programs in qualified Higher Education Institutions (HEIs)
- Have not earned any units or degree in tertiary education

Step 2: Make sure you meet all qualifications before proceeding.
Step 3: Gather all required documents for submission.
Step 4: Fill out the form and upload your documents through the portal.
Step 5: CHED will evaluate applications and notify qualified applicants.
