Quick Answer: Who is eligible?
The scholarship is for underprivileged but deserving students who are incoming first-year college students at one of 8 partner schools, enrolled in an eligible course. You need a GWA of at least 93%, no subject grade below 86%, and 90%+ in high school subjects related to your course. You must not be a child of a Security Bank employee or hold another scholarship. Continuing college students can apply only when a slot opens.
Which Security Bank Scholarship are you Looking For?
Security Bank Foundation, Inc. (SBFI) has several programs, and people often land on the wrong one:
- External scholarship (this guide): for underprivileged students at the 8 partner schools.
- Internal scholarship: for Security Bank employees and their children.
- Regalo Mo, Kinabukasan Ko: for agency personnel and their children.
- TechVoc scholarship: for technical-vocational students.
If you are the child of a Security Bank employee, you are not eligible for the external program, so check the internal scholarship instead.
What are the Scholarship Benefits
The amount depends on whether your school is state-run or private.

The stipend is paid through your school, and the amounts depend on the actual period classes run. So “up to ₱150,000” applies only to private schools. By this math, a 4-year course could be worth up to about ₱400,000 at a state university or ₱600,000 at a private one. Your actual total depends on your course length and on renewing every term. Scholars also get internship opportunities, CSR activities, and learning sessions with partner institutions.
What are the Partner Schools and Eligible Courses
8 partner schools: Ateneo de Manila University, Chiang Kai Shek College, De La Salle University – Manila, Far Eastern University – Manila, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, Polytechnic University of the Philippines – Manila, University of the Philippines – Diliman, University of Santo Tomas – Manila.
Eligible courses are the ones that support bank operations:
- Accountancy
- Accounting Information System/Technology
- Internal Auditing
- Marketing
- Financial Management
- Industrial Engineering
- Management Engineering
- Applied Mathematics
- Business Analytics/Statistics
- Data Science
- Computer Science/Technology
- Information Systems/Technology
Other courses are not accepted, and shifting to a non-eligible course later is a ground for termination.
Qualifications
- Incoming first-year student at a partner school (continuing students only if a slot opens).
- GWA of at least 93% or equivalent.
- No subject grade below 86% or equivalent.
- 90% or higher in Grade 7-12 subjects aligned with your college course.
- Not a child of a Security Bank employee.
- No other family member in the scholarship within the second degree of consanguinity or affinity.
- No other scholarship, except school discounts.
Meeting these doesn’t guarantee a slot. You still need to pass the first-level review and the interview.
Requirements
When you apply:
- Online application form
- Grade 7-12 transcript with GWA (Grade 12 grades up to December 2025 are accepted if 2026 grades aren’t out yet)
- Parent/guardian proof of income: latest ITR if employed, Certificate of Indigency if unemployed, or OFW employment contract showing compensation
- Proof of admission or application to a partner school
- Birth certificate
- Portrait photo (2×2 on a white background is fine; high resolution, need not be formal)
After you’re admitted:
- Certificate of enrollment or registration card for A.Y. 2026-2027
- School calendar
- School grading system (if not percentage-based)
- Course curriculum
- Parent/guardian’s government ID (for notarization)

All of these have passed. The deadline depended on your target school, so there was no single nationwide cutoff.
How to Apply for the Security Bank foundation scholarship
Only online applications are screened.
- Prepare your documents (scan them clearly, and make sure your grades show a GWA).
- Submit the online form with all requirements before your school’s deadline.
- Validation: the Foundation may check details by phone or email, so use active contact details.
- Endorsement: valid applications go to your partner school’s scholarship coordinator.
- Interview: those who pass the first review are interviewed, online or in person. The official page says you’ll hear within a month after the deadline.
- Contract signing: new scholars and a parent/guardian sign the scholarship contract.
You don’t need to be accepted by the school before applying. A proof of application is enough at first, and the acceptance letter is needed if you reach the interview round.
Why Applications get stuck
These come straight from the official FAQ:
- Missing one parent’s proof of income. Both parents’ documents are needed, and incomplete applications aren’t processed.
- Grades without a GWA. Portal grades are accepted, but the GWA must be shown.
- OFW parents without an ITR. Submit the employment contract showing salary.
- Existing scholarship. Having another scholarship disqualifies you.
- Out-of-list course or school. Neither is accepted.
Renewal and Termination
Scholars renew every term (semester or trimester) with: the online renewal form, updated grading system, certificate of enrollment for the next term, report card showing the previous term’s GWA, and assessment of fees. A reconsideration letter is needed only if you miss the per-subject grade requirement.
You can lose the scholarship for: missing renewal deadlines, shifting to a non-eligible course, falling below the required GWA, deferring enrollment (except for poor health), a failing, incomplete, or dropped grade, violating school policies, transferring schools, or taking another scholarship.

Can I apply if I’m already in college?
Only when a slot opens because a scholar drops out. Ask your school’s scholarship office.
Do I need to be accepted by the school before applying?
No. A confirmation of application is enough at first. The acceptance letter is required if you reach the interview.
I stopped schooling last year. Can I still apply?
Yes, if you haven’t stopped for more than one academic year.
Can I apply to other scholarships too?
Yes, while they’re pending. If you’re admitted to more than one, you must choose one.
Will all the slots be filled if I apply late in the period?
The Foundation says all applications submitted within the application period are reviewed.
What do I enter under “Tertiary Education Information” as a Grade 12 student?
The course you plan to take and the school you’ll enroll in.
I applied to three partner schools. Do I submit proof for all three?
No, just one, preferably your first choice.
How will I know if I qualify?
Within a month after the deadline, you’ll be contacted about the online interview. Keep your phone and email active.
