The Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) is now accepting applications for the S&T Undergraduate Scholarships Program for Academic Year 2027-2028 for qualified Filipino senior high school students.

The S&T Undergraduate Scholarships Program aims to stimulate and entice talented Filipino youths to pursue lifetime productive careers in science and technology and ensure a steady, adequate supply of qualified S&T human resources for national progress.
The program offers two types of scholarships:
- Merit – awarded to students with high aptitude in science and mathematics who are willing to pursue careers in science and technology; and
- RA 7687 – provided under the Science and Technology Scholarship Act of 1994 for talented and deserving students whose families’ socio-economic status does not exceed the set cut-off values.
What are the benefits of the scholarship?
Scholars under the DOST SEI Undergraduate Scholarship will receive the following benefits during the regular academic year:
- School fees – ā±40,000 per year;
- Learning Materials and Connectivity Allowance – ā±10,000 per year;
- Transportation Allowance – one actual economy class round trip fare per academic year for scholars studying outside their home province or region;
- Monthly Living Allowance – ā±8,000 per month;
- Clothing Allowance – ā±1,000 for the first semester of the first year only;
- Group Health and Accident Insurance – covered premium;
- Thesis Allowance – ā±10,000; and
- Graduation Allowance – ā±1,000.
For summer or mid-year terms (if required in the curriculum):
- School fees – actual amount up to ā±10,000;
- Learning Materials and Connectivity Allowance – ā±2,000; and
- Monthly Living Allowance – ā±8,000 per month for 2 months.

What are the qualifications?
Before applying, make sure you meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Must be a natural-born Filipino citizen;
- Must be of good moral character and in good health;
- Must not have earned any post-secondary (college or vocational) units;
- For graduating Grade 12 students in SY 2026ā2027:
- STEM Strand – all students belonging to the STEM class; and
- Non-STEM Strand – must be in the top 5% of the Non-STEM graduating class.
- For Grade 12 graduates before SY 2026ā2027 who have not yet enrolled in college:
- STEM Strand – all students belonging to the STEM class; and
- Non-STEM Strand – must be in the top 5% of the Non-STEM graduating class.
What are the requirements?
Applicants must prepare and submit the following documentary requirements:
- Form C – Certificate of Good Moral Character;
- Form D – Certificate of Good Health;
- Principal’s Certification;
- Form E1, E2, E3, or E4 – depending on the applicant’s strand or learning setup;
- Form F – Certificate of Residency;
- Form G – Parent’s Certification;
- Form H – DOST-SEI Scholarship Examination or Award;
- Form I – Applicant’s Certification of No Post-Secondary Units;
- Form J – Signed Declaration of Applicant and Parent or Legal Guardian;
- Recent passport-size picture (4.5 cm Ć 3.5 cm);
- Applicant’s Birth Certificate;
- Proof of Income; and
- Notarized Affidavit of Guardianship (if applicable).
Note: Print each form on A4 size bond paper. Save each file using the prescribed file naming convention: (Surname-Form __). Ensure all uploaded files are correct, complete, and viewable in the system.

How to apply for the DOST SEI Undergraduate Scholarship 2027
Make sure to prepare all the required documents before applying. Then, follow the steps below:
Step 1: Create your online application account through the E-Application System. Use a unique valid email address from Google (Gmail), Outlook, Yahoo, or iCloud only. School and government email domains are not allowed.
Step 2: Complete all required application modules and upload all documentary requirements. You may accomplish the modules in any order and save your progress at any time.
Step 3: Select your preferred test center for the qualifying examination. Note that once submitted, your test center preference can no longer be changed.
Step 4: Review all application information carefully and click the Submit button once everything is in order. After submission, no changes can be made to your application.
What happens after submission?
- Test permits will be made available for download in October 2026 through the E-Scholarship Application System;
- The qualifying examination is scheduled on November 14ā15, 2026; and
- Announcement of scholarship qualifiers is tentatively in March 2027.
Note: A qualifier and their parent or guardian must attend the Orientation on the S&T Scholarship Policies and sign the Scholarship Agreement to officially become a DOST-SEI scholar. The scholarship award is effective for the First Semester or Term of Academic Year 2027-2028.
Application Period
The online application period for the DOST SEI Undergraduate Scholarship opens on August 17, 2026 and closes on September 17, 2026.
Since slots are limited, applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible.
