The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) is now accepting applications for the Scholarship Program for Coconut Farmers and their Families (CoScho) for Academic Year 2026-2027 for qualified coconut farmers and their dependents nationwide.

What is the CHED CoScho Scholarship
The Scholarship Program for Coconut Farmers and their Families (CoScho) is a government-funded scholarship program under CHED implemented in accordance with Republic Act No. 11524 or the Coconut Farmers and Industry Trust Fund Act.
The program aims to raise social equity of coconut farmers and alleviate poverty through the provision of quality education to coconut farmers and their dependents.
The scholarship is accessible to qualified and deserving coconut farmers and their families duly registered under the National Coconut Farmers Registry System (NCFRS).
It covers undergraduate students who will enroll or are currently enrolled in agriculture, agricultural engineering, agribusiness management, agricultural economics, and other courses identified by the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA).
What are the benefits of the scholarship?
Scholars under the CoScho Program will receive the following financial assistance:
Regular Allowances (per academic year):
- Stipend of ₱35,000 per semester or ₱70,000 per academic year, which includes food, educational tours, transportation, smaller projects, medical insurance, internet use, and communication; and
- Book allowance and other learning materials of ₱5,000 per semester or ₱10,000 per academic year.
Other Allowances:
- Thesis and/or OJT allowance – ₱75,000 per academic year;
- One-time attendance in a local conference or forum related to the undergraduate program – ₱10,000; and
- One-time financial assistance for the purchase of a laptop computer (to be given during the first year of the scholarship grant) – ₱30,000.
The grand total of financial assistance is up to ₱195,000.
Note: Scholars are required to render one (1) year of return service per year of scholarship in the Philippines within two (2) years after graduation, prioritizing government agencies directly working with the coconut industry, other government agencies, and private entities related to the Philippine Coconut Industry.
What are the qualifications?
Before applying, make sure you meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Must be a Filipino citizen;
- Must be a graduating high school student or high school graduate with a GWA of 80% or its equivalent, or a college student with earned academic units relevant to PCA-identified degree programs with a GWA of 80% from the previous semester;
- Must pass the entry-level requirements of identified State Universities and Colleges (SUCs);
- Must not be a recipient of any government-funded financial assistance program;
- Must be a duly registered coconut farmer in the NCFRS or a dependent thereof; and
- Must have a combined annual gross income of parents not exceeding ₱300,000.
Note: Only one family member shall be allowed to apply for the scholarship.
What are the requirements?
Applicants must prepare and submit the following documentary requirements:
- Birth Certificate issued by the Local Civil Registry or PSA;
- Academic records:
- For senior high school students – duly certified copy of grades for Grade 11 and first semester of Grade 12;
- For senior high school graduates – Form 138; or
- For college students with earned units – duly certified copy of grades for the latest semester or term attended;
- PCA Certification issued by the PCA Regional Office to NCFRS-registered coconut farmers or farmworkers;
- Certificate of Good Moral Character from the last school attended;
- Proof of Income – any one of the following:
- Latest Income Tax Return (ITR) of applicant and/or spouse, parents, or guardians;
- Certificate of Tax Exemption from the BIR;
- Certificate of No Income from BIR;
- Certificate of Indigency from the Barangay; or
- Certificate or Case Study from DSWD;
- Notice of Admission from the HEI with collegiate degree offerings;
- Proof that the student applicant belongs to special groups (if applicable); and
- Original Barangay Certification that parents, guardians, and siblings have never attended college or university (if applicable).
How to apply for the CHED CoScho Scholarship 2026
Make sure to prepare all the required documents before applying. Then, follow the steps below:
Step 1: Submit your application to your respective CHED Regional Office (CHEDRO).
Step 2: The CHEDRO will accept and evaluate the applications and rank the qualified applicants.
Step 3: The Office of Student Development Services (OSDS) will validate the rank list, approve the list of qualified beneficiaries, and issue corresponding award numbers.
You may also apply through the CHEDRO Application Portal of your respective region.
Application Period
The deadline for submission of applications for the CHED CoScho Scholarship Program for Academic Year 2026-2027 is on August 31, 2026.
Applicants are encouraged to submit their requirements as early as possible to avoid last-minute issues.
