Qualified college students pursuing STEM courses may receive a fixed annual financial grant of ₱80,000 to ₱120,000, depending on their university, through the GBF STEM College Scholarship, providing comprehensive support to outstanding students in the field of STEM.

The program is granted by the Gokongwei Brothers Foundation (GBF) in partnership with Gokongwei Group business units, and scholars are provided employment opportunities within the Gokongwei Group of companies after graduation.

To date, the program has produced 352 graduates and currently supports 248 active scholars.

What is the GBF STEM College Scholarship?

The GBF STEM College Scholarship, formerly known as the GBF-Gokongwei Group STEM Scholarship for Excellence, supports outstanding college students pursuing GBF priority STEM courses. The scholarship is granted to students who have a good academic record, demonstrate leadership potential and community involvement, and require financial assistance to pursue higher education.

Aside from financial assistance, GBF scholars also enjoy scholar development programs, including leadership training and upskilling activities, as well as on-the-job training and employment opportunities within the Gokongwei Group.

Who can apply for the GBF STEM College Scholarship?

According to GBF eligibility requirements, an applicant must meet the following conditions:

  • Must be enrolled in a GBF priority STEM course, verified through the official eligibility check link.
  • Must have an outstanding academic record, with a general weighted average of 85% or 2.0, or its equivalent.
  • Must be of good moral standing and exhibit active participation and involvement in extra-curricular activities.
  • Must be in need of financial support to complete their studies.

GBF STEM College Scholarship Requirements

Proof of Academic Standing

For incoming college students:

  1. Certified True Copy of Grades – Grade 12 report card or Form 137
  2. Notice of Admission or Proof of University Application for the current academic year

For continuing college students (2nd year and above):

  1. Certified True Copy of Grades from the past 2 consecutive semesters

Proof of Annual Household Income: any of the following, depending on the family’s situation:

  • If a parent/parents is/are employed in the private or public sector, or self-employed, submit either:
    • Recently filed 2026 Annual Income Tax Return (ITR): Form 2303 (employed) or Form 1701 (self-employed)
    • Certificate of Employment with Salary of family members contributing to household income (dated 2026)
    • Employment contract with salary, for OFWs
    • Screenshot of January-March 2026 income, for self-employed individuals in ride-hailing services like Grab/Lalamove
  • If the family’s income depends on a senior parent’s pension: Proof of Pension
  • If a parent/parents does/do not have a regular source of income and is/are exempted from filing taxes: BIR Tax Exemption Certificate (to be submitted later, upon successful application)
