BFP Scholarship 2026: Get Up to ₱150,000 for College

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) continues to provide educational assistance to qualified beneficiaries through its BFP Scholarship Program, supporting the families of firefighters who have sacrificed in the line of duty.

The program is designed to help dependents of deceased or permanently incapacitated BFP personnel gain access to quality education, while easing the financial burden on their families.

Who can apply?

The scholarship is open to the following beneficiaries:

  • Surviving children of BFP personnel who died in the line of duty
  • Dependents of BFP personnel declared Totally and Permanently Physically Disabled (TPPD)

Applicants must also meet the academic and qualification standards set by the BFP and its partner schools.

What are the Scholarship benefits

Qualified scholars may receive financial assistance covering tuition and other school-related expenses. The coverage includes:

  • PhP 68,000 for Kindergarten per year
  • PhP 68,000 for Elementary per year
  • PhP 104,000 for Secondary per year
  • PhP 150,000 for College per year

Additional educational support may also be granted as determined by the Bureau.

What are the Documentary requirements

Applicants must submit a complete set of documents, including:

  • Fully accomplished application form
  • Two (2) recent 2×2 ID photos
  • Approved CAB or DDB Resolution, or Line of Duty (LOD) report with Death Certificate (if applicable)
  • Medical certification for cases of permanent incapacity
  • Birth Certificate of the applicant
  • Proof of relationship to the BFP personnel (e.g., marriage contract, birth certificates of family members)
  • Affidavit of two disinterested persons (if birth is unregistered)
  • Proof of highest educational attainment (Form 138, Transcript of Records, or Certificate of Enrollment)

Additional documents may be required depending on the applicant’s status.

How to apply for the BFP Scholarship 2026

Interested applicants must complete the official application form and submit all required documents to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

Once completed, submit the form along with all documentary requirements to the nearest BFP office or designated unit handling scholarship applications.

All applications will be subject to evaluation and verification. Qualified applicants will be notified by the BFP for further instructions.

Incomplete submissions may not be processed, so applicants are advised to ensure all requirements are complete before submission.

Requirements for approved grantees / scholars

For College

Approved college scholars must submit the following every semester:

  • Grades of the previous semester;
  • Assessment of Fees/Certificate of Registration/Certificate of Enrollment for the coming semester;
  • Receipt of payment (if available, not required);
  • Certificate of Books with receipt (if available, not required).

For Elementary and High School

Approved scholars in elementary and secondary levels must submit the following every school year:

  • Grades of the previous school year;
  • Assessment of Fees/Certificate of Registration/Certificate of Enrollment for the coming school year;
  • Receipt of payment (if available, not required);
  • Certificate of Books with receipt (if available, not required).

Partner schools and payment process

The BFP partners with State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and other Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) that accept scholarship beneficiaries.

Once admitted to a partner school:

  • Tuition and authorized fees are paid directly by the BFP to the institution
  • Payments are based on the school’s official billing or statement of account
  • All transactions follow government accounting and auditing rules

Program support and implementation

The scholarship is implemented through formal agreements between the BFP and partner institutions. These agreements outline responsibilities, payment procedures, and monitoring systems to ensure proper delivery of benefits.
