The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) is now accepting applications for the Scholarship Program for Sugarcane Industry Workers, Small Sugarcane Farmers, and Their Dependents (SIScholar) for qualified Filipino college students.
CHED SIScholar Scholarship 2026
The SIScholar is a government-funded scholarship program under CHED that provides educational assistance to sugarcane industry workers, small sugarcane farmers, and their dependents who wish to pursue a college degree. The program comes with a required Return Service upon completion of the degree program.

What are the qualifications?
Before applying, make sure you meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Must be duly certified by the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) as a sugarcane industry worker, small sugarcane farmer, or their dependent;
- Must have a household gross income of not more than ₱500,000;
- For first-year college students – must have a minimum General Average of 85% or its equivalent; and
- For second- to fourth-year college students – must have a minimum GWA of 80% or its equivalent.
Note: Applicants must enroll in an identified priority program.
What are the requirements?
Applicants must prepare and submit the following documentary requirements in PDF or JPEG format:
A. Required Documents:
- Copy of Birth Certificate issued by the NSO or PSA;
- For senior high school graduates – certified true copy of School Form 9 (SF9) duly signed by the registrar or an authorized representative (front and back);
- For second- to fourth-year college students – certified true copy of grades from the last semester attended;
- SRA Certification that the applicant is a sugarcane industry worker, a small sugarcane farmer, or a qualified dependent; and
- Copy of Notice of Admission from the SUC.
B. Financial Documents (any one of the following):
- Latest Income Tax Return (ITR) of parents or legal guardian;
- Certificate of Tax Exemption or Non-Filer from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR); or
- Social Case Study Report issued by the C/MSWD.
C. For Applicants with Legal Guardians:
- Notarized Certificate of Guardianship issued by the legal guardian of the student-applicant.
D. Other Supporting Documents (if applicable):
- PWD ID or Certification issued by the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO);
- Solo Parent ID of the applicant or parent;
- Senior Citizen ID;
- Certification from DHSUD or C/MSWD for underprivileged and homeless citizens;
- Social Case Study Report for Magna Carta for the Poor or first-generation students; or
- Certification from the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP).
Note: Each file should not exceed 5MB. Use a clear file naming convention such as: LastName_FirstName_DocumentName (e.g., LastName_FirstName_BirthCertificate). Make sure all uploads are rotated correctly and free from password protection.

Application Period
The deadline for submission of applications for the CHED SIScholar Scholarship 2026 is on July 31, 2026.
Applicants are encouraged to submit their requirements as early as possible to avoid last-minute technical issues.
