CP-GIFTS Scholarship 2026: Requirements, Benefits, and How to Apply

The Cebu Provincial Government is now accepting applications for the Cebu Province-Grants Intended for Tertiary Students (CP-GIFTS) for School Year 2026–2027 for qualified incoming first-year college students across Cebu province.

Cebu CP-GIFTS Scholarship 2026

The CP-GIFTS program provides financial assistance to qualified college students enrolled in public higher education institutions in Cebu. For School Year 2026–2027, a total of 5,900 scholarship slots have been allocated under the offices of the Governor, Vice Governor, and members of the Provincial Board.

Note: Around 1,000 remaining slots are still available for first-year students who enrolled during School Year 2025–2026.

What are the benefits of the scholarship?

Scholars under the CP-GIFTS program will receive the following:

  • Monthly financial assistance of ₱2,000, which may be released in cash or through checks upon submission of grades and other documentary requirements.

What are the qualifications?

Before applying, make sure you meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Must be an incoming first-year college student with a General Weighted Average (GWA) of at least 85% or its equivalent;
  • Must have passed the entrance examination and admission requirements of their chosen school;
  • Must be a resident of Cebu province for at least one year before applying;
  • Must be a registered voter of the province, or have parents who are registered voters of the province;
  • Parents or guardians must have a combined annual income of not more than ₱200,000; and
  • Must not be receiving any other scholarship or subsidy providing living allowance from the government, private institutions, or individuals.

Note: Graduate courses, including law and medicine, are excluded from the program. Priority is given to students taking Agriculture, Fisheries, Accountancy, Real Estate Management, Engineering, pre-medical courses, Social Work, Psychology, Criminology, Mechatronics or Robotics, Information Technology, and other computer-related courses.

What are the requirements?

Applicants must prepare and submit the following documentary requirements:

  • Certified true copy of the Senior High School report card for the first and second semesters with at least 85% GWA;
  • Certificate of Good Moral Character signed by the principal and endorsed by the district supervisor;
  • Barangay certification proving residency;
  • Voter’s ID or voter’s certification issued by the Commission on Elections;
  • Income Tax Return or tax exemption certificate issued by the Bureau of Internal Revenue for parents or guardians;
  • Study load or proof of enrollment;
  • Signed Terms and Conditions form;
  • Letter of Attestation certifying that the applicant is not receiving another scholarship; and
  • Accomplished Student Information Form.

Note: Digital copies of the forms are available through the CP-GIFTS application form. The Provincial Government warned that any falsification or misrepresentation may lead to disqualification from the program.

How to apply for the Cebu CP-GIFTS Scholarship 2026

Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants may submit their applications through any of the following:

  • Online – coordinate directly with your district Board Member through the online application portal; or
  • Walk-in – submit completed applications to the Receiving Office at the Capitol Executive Building.

Note: Students from any part of Cebu may qualify for slots under the offices of the Governor and Vice Governor.

Scholars’ Responsibilities

To maintain the scholarship, scholars must comply with the following requirements:

  • Maintain an average grade of at least 85% and must not incur any failing grade in any subject; and
  • Render a total of 160 hours of community work or return service during the duration of the program, which may include tree planting, medical missions, clean-up drives, and other school- or government-sponsored programs.

Note: Students who shift courses, change majors, transfer schools, stop studying, or become beneficiaries of another living allowance subsidy automatically forfeit their scholarship benefits.

Application Period

Applications for the remaining slots for School Year 2025–2026 will only be accepted until June 30, 2026. Beginning July 1, 2026, the Provincial School Board will start accepting applications for Batch 7 for School Year 2026–2027.
